Q Precious and Battery Metals Corp. (CSE:QMET) has announced that the company intersected disseminated, semi-massive, and massive sulphide mineralization in the first drill hole at the La Corne South project in Val d’Or, Quebec. The drill hole was intended to test a TDEM conductor and magnetic high discovered by QMET geophysical surveys.
QMET drill hole 24LCS-01 reached a depth of 144 meters. Several significant mineralized bands were visible, each ranging from 2 to 5 meters in width and consisting mainly of pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, and sphalerite, interpreted as Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) deposition. The core is currently being logged and sampled in Val d’Or. Explo-Logik Inc is managing the drill program. QMET cautions that the information provided at this time is preliminary based on initial visual observations by a Qualified Professional on-site. Samples will be analyzed to verify the metals within the sulphide mineralization, including Cu-Zn-Ag-Au.
Current Drill Program
The drill program will continue testing TDEM conductors and magnetic anomalies along the strike of the host volcanic rocks. Approximately 2 kilometers will be tested with 7-9 drill holes, each 120-150 meters deep. Drill hole planning will advance based on observed geology in each hole. The QMET geologic team is pleased with the mineralization intercepted in hole 24LCS-01 as it supports the exploration model for VMS in the host volcanic rocks at La Corne South.
Ongoing Monitoring and Analysis
The geologic team, including QP and Project Manager Gilles Carrier of Explo-Logik Inc, will monitor the drilling and sample mineralized intercepts. They will also continue interpretation for future drill hole targeting. Drill core logging and sampling will take place at the Explo-Logik facility in Val d’Or.
