Sayona Mining Limited (ASX:SYA; OTCQB:SYAXF) announced the appointment of Lucas Dow as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective 3 July 2024.
Lucas Dow’s Background and Experience
Lucas joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director on 14 February 2024. He ascends to the MD & CEO role from Interim CEO James Brown, who will remain an Executive Director until 31 January 2025 and then return to a Non-Executive Director role.
Lucas is a seasoned mining executive with a robust track record across various businesses, commodities, and geographies, positioning him to lead Sayona into its next growth phase as a premier North American lithium producer. He has held executive roles in both listed and unlisted entities and has hands-on operational experience in both mining resources and the renewable energy sector.

Appointment of Sylvain Collard as President and COO of Canada
Sylvain Collard has been appointed President and COO of Canadian operations, responsible for projects in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue hub, including the NAL operations, and the Eeyou Istchee James Bay hub, including the Moblan Lithium Project. Sylvain brings extensive experience in mine project management and operations.
James Brown noted, “Sylvain’s appointment as President and COO underscores his strong leadership and operational insight. His experience positions him to lead our strategic initiatives in Québec and drive growth and excellence.”
