Global Lithium Portfolio
The Company’s global lithium portfolio consists of two advanced lithium resources in Argentina and an advancing lithium asset in Nevada.
About Candela II Lithium Deposit
The Candela II Lithium deposit is located on the southern end of the Incahuasi Salar in Salta, Argentina. It is approximately 267 kilometers from Salta and close to renowned lithium salars such as Arizaro and Pocitos. Lithium contributions come from Volcanoes Cerro Aracar, Medina, and Pular.
The Candela II Lithium Brine Project contains a National Instrument 43-101 mineral resource estimate completed by WSP Australia Pty. Ltd. This report estimates the project to contain lithium metal of 86,000 tonnes, equating to 457,500 tonnes of in-situ lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) and a lithium yield of 48,000 tonnes of LCE.
About Pocitos 1 Lithium Deposit
WSP Australia completed an update of the NI 43-101 report for the Pocitos 1 and neighboring Pocitos 2 blocks. American Salars does not own the Pocitos 2 ground but all drilling to date has been completed on the Pocitos 1 block.
The Pocitos 1 project is approximately 10 kilometers from the town of Pocitos, with access to gas, electricity, and accommodation. It covers 800 hectares and has seen over US$2.0 million in project development since 2017. Locations for follow-up drilling have been identified based on recent surveys.
Lithium values of 169 ppm from drill hole PCT22-03 were recorded during the December 2022 drill campaigns. Ekosolve Ltd. produced 99.8% purity lithium carbonate with extraction rates above 94%.
About Black Rock South Lithium Brine Project
The Black Rock South Lithium Brine Project is located 72 miles north of the Tesla Gigafactory, 93 miles southwest of Thacker Pass, and 215 miles northwest of the Silver Peak lithium brine mine. The project area targets lithium brines hosted in basin-fill sediments.
Statements from the CEO
American Salars CEO & Director R. Nick Horsley states, “We are eagerly awaiting the results of our Black Rock South Phase 1 sampling program and will use this data for planning an upcoming Phase 2.
