Azimut Exploration Inc. (TSXV: AZM) (OTCQX: AZMTF) has announced the discovery of spodumene-bearing pegmatite outcrops on the Pilipas Property in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region of Quebec.

Spodumene Pegmatite Discovery at the Highway Showing

A spodumene-bearing pegmatite occurrence was found at the Highway showing (HW1). This pegmatite is open in multiple directions, with an approximate strike length of over 150 m and width of up to 30 m. It is located close to infrastructure, about 200 m east of the Billy Diamond Highway.

Additional Spodumene Mineralization

Another trend of spodumene mineralization was identified 500 m south of the HW1 showing. Seven additional discontinuous pegmatite outcrops were recognized over a strike length of approximately 450 m.

Exploration Activities on the Pilipas Property

A comprehensive prospecting program was conducted over the property, resulting in the collection of 460 grab samples. Many pegmatite outcrops were confirmed and sampled, with assay results pending. Spodumene crystals up to 50 cm were observed at the HW1 showing.

About the Pilipas Property

The 70.7 km² Pilipas Property comprises 135 claims and is located near the Billy-Diamond Highway. It is underlain by the Lower Eastmain greenstone belt. The property shows potential for lithium-cesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatites as well as gold-copper systems. Under a December 2023 agreement, Ophir can acquire up to a 70% interest by funding $4 million in exploration and providing payments in shares and cash.
