Surge Battery Metals Inc. (TSXV: NILI.V) has announced the completion of assays from the 2023 sonic drilling campaign at the Nevada North lithium clay deposit. The company is now awaiting results from seven additional diamond drill holes.

The 2023 drilling aimed to build on the 2022 reverse circulation discovery holes, confirming grades and thicknesses, expanding the mineralization area, and obtaining material for metallurgical testing. The program included five sonic holes and seven diamond drill holes, with results expected in the coming weeks.

The 2023 sonic drilling confirmed a lithium mineralized area nearly double the size of the 2022 discovery. The Upper Claystone Horizon (UCH) showed high-grade lithium, favorable for economic extraction. The company plans to submit an Exploration Plan of Operations (EPO) to the BLM, looking forward to a fully funded 2024 drilling season.

2023 Drilling Highlights

The UCH spans over 3km and has an average thickness of 30m, with high-grade lithium starting at the surface in several locations. The remaining diamond drill holes aim to further explore lithium mineralization.

Future Exploration Plans

For 2024, Surge Battery Metals Inc. will focus on high priority targets identified in soil sampling and geophysics for future exploration at Nevada North.
