ALX Resources Corp. (TSXV: AL) has announced the successful completion of its prospecting program at the McKenzie Lake Uranium Project in northern Saskatchewan, Canada. The program aimed to build on the findings from the 2021 airborne radiometric survey, which identified a significant uranium signature.
McKenzie Lake 2023 Prospecting Program Highlights
The October 2023 prospecting supported by helicopter access allowed a geological crew to investigate several target areas. Despite weather challenges, the team managed to prospect for six days, focusing on areas with previously detected radiometric anomalies.
Notably, Boulder #1, which exhibited over 6,000 cps of radioactivity, was further excavated, revealing its larger size and association with hydrothermal hematite alteration. A second boulder, Boulder #2, located 2.4 kilometers from the first, showed radioactivity levels between 4,000 and 16,000 cps. These findings suggest proximity to the original bedrock source of uranium mineralization.
Future Exploration and Analysis
Samples from the prospecting program have been sent to SRC Geoanalytical Laboratories for analysis, with results pending. ALX has outlined recommendations for further exploration at McKenzie Lake to continue uncovering the project’s potential.
About McKenzie Lake
McKenzie Lake comprises 5 claims over 6,916 hectares and is situated in a region known for recent uranium discoveries. ALX acquired the project in 2021 and has since utilized advanced exploration technologies, including artificial intelligence, to refine target areas for prospecting.
