ALX Resources Corp. (TSXV: AL) (FSE: 6LLN) (OTC: ALXEF) has announced the return of its lithium exploration crew to the Volta sub-project area of the Hydra Lithium Project in Quebec, Canada. This project is a 50%-50% joint venture with Forrestania Resources Limited (ASX: FRS), with ALX as the operator.
2023 Hydra Exploration Summary
The exploration at Hydra faced several delays since its commencement in June 2023. Forest fires and the moose hunting season by the Cree Nation of Wemindji caused the suspension of the initial and second phase of exploration. However, ALX decided to return to the James Bay region as Volta had received limited exploration in 2022.
In September 2023, ALX conducted a LiDAR and orthophoto survey at Volta to enhance the quality of imagery used for pegmatite exploration. The prospecting work at Volta is supported by remote sensing studies optimized for pegmatite detection. The results will be released upon their receipt, compilation, and interpretation.
The Hydra sub-projects were selected based on the presence of historical lithium, cesium, and tantalum lake sediment anomalies and a review of public-domain geological mapping. The application of remote sensing and artificial intelligence studies for pegmatite detection is ongoing.
