New Age Metals Inc. (NAM) (TSXV:NAM); (OTC:NMTLF); (FSE:P7J) has announced the initiation of a PLATSOL™ leaching testwork program at its River Valley Palladium Project in Ontario. The testwork, conducted by SGS Canada Inc., will focus on drill core samples from the Dana and Lismer mineralized zones. This is part of a post-PEA metallurgical optimization program aimed at improving recovery of platinum metals, gold, and copper.
PLATSOL™ Testwork
PLATSOL™ is a hydrometallurgical process developed by SGS Canada Inc. for recovery of PGM, gold, and base metals. Previous PLATSOL™ testwork studies have resulted in >90% recoveries of Pd, Pt, Au, and Cu. The River Valley Project could potentially produce a higher value product for off-site metal refining.
Upcoming Study
The River Valley Platsol study will start soon at SGS Lakefield and conclude in Q4 2023. D.E.N.M. Engineering Ltd. will manage the study for NAM. The results could lead to a full PLATSOL™ study in 2024.
