Midland Exploration Inc. (MD.V) has announced new nickel-copper (Ni-Cu) assay results from the Santos drilling campaign. The campaign was a follow-up to the new Ni-Cu discovery named Santos on the Tete Nord property.

Santos Drilling Campaign Results

In July 2023, a shallow drill hole investigated the thickness of the Ni-Cu zone discovered in April. The drill hole MDLD0018 intersected a mineralized zone grading 0.33% Ni and 0.12% Cu over 39.73 metres. This was approximately 50 metres west of the initial drill hole MDLD0015.

The mineralized zone exhibits impressive magmatic breccias with semi-massive sulphide zones. The total thickness of this zone remains undetermined, and the zone is open in all directions.

Upcoming Drilling Campaign

The next drilling campaign will begin in November 2023. It will consist of four additional drill holes totaling 1,150 metres. The focus will be on new targets identified at depth following electromagnetic surveys completed in summer 2023.

The discovery hole MDLD0015 was designed to test a VTEM anomaly. It intersected several layers with Ni-Cu mineralization within altered gabbro horizons. The new Santos Ni-Cu zone is favourably located approximately 8 kilometres north of the former Lac Edouard Ni-Cu mine.
