Rock Tech Completes Scoping Study for Canadian Lithium Converter

Rock Tech Lithium Inc. (RCK) has announced the completion of a scoping study for a proposed lithium conversion facility in Ontario, Canada. The study confirms a post-tax NPV of CAD 2.3 billion and an IRR of 22.2%, emphasizing the economic viability and operational feasibility of the project.

Significant Knowledge Transfer from German Converter

The proposed facility aims to leverage up to 80% of basic engineering knowledge from Rock Tech’s German Converter, promising cost savings and a quicker timeline. This strategic move positions the company to capitalize on lithium processing in North America.

Plans for Lithium Production in Ontario

The facility is proposed to have a capacity of 32 ktpa LCE, with raw materials sourced from the company’s Georgia Lake Project and other mines in Ontario. This development supports Rock Tech’s vision of sustainable, local lithium production.

Strategic Location and Market Needs

Located in Red Rock, Ontario, 110 km northeast of Thunder Bay, the converter aims to serve local mines. The facility’s output, whether Lithium Carbonate or Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate, will be decided based on market needs.

Jennifer Main, COO of the Ontario Converter Project, highlighted that this move positions Rock Tech as a leader in advancing lithium processing in Ontario.
