Piedmont Lithium (ASX:PLL, OTC:PLLTL) has received an environmental permit from Ghana’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its Ewoyaa Lithium Project. This project is developed in partnership with Atlantic Lithium Ltd (AIM:ALL, OTCQX:ALLIF, ASX:A11).
In August 2023, Piedmont secured a 22.5% interest in Ewoyaa, pending government approvals. This acquisition is part of Piedmont’s plan to eventually gain a 50% stake in Atlantic Lithium’s Ghanaian lithium assets.
Piedmont Lithium Progresses with EPA Permit
Patrick Brindle, the chief operating officer of Piedmont Lithium, stated that obtaining the EPA Permit is a critical milestone for the Ewoyaa Project. He emphasized the commitment to responsible development alongside Atlantic Lithium.
“We appreciate the efforts of the EPA and Atlantic Lithium in achieving this stage,” Brindle said. “We look forward to the ratification of the mining lease and the next steps towards project construction.”

Piedmont aims to proceed with a mining lease and future project construction, subject to approvals and market conditions.
