Anson Resources Gets Utah Green Light for Lithium Extraction

Anson Resources Ltd (ASN, ANSNF) has announced that its Green River Lithium project received final approval from the State of Utah, Department of Natural Resources. This allows the company to use brine for lithium extraction. The decision follows an application filed in July 2023 by Anson’s subsidiary, Blackstone Minerals NV LLC.

Anson Resources Advances Green River Lithium Project

The approval permits the use of 19 cubic feet per second of brine in a direct lithium extraction (DLE) process. Crucially, all extracted brine will be returned to its geological formation, making the process environmentally friendly and non-consumptive.

Environmental Impact Commitment

Anson Resources has highlighted their commitment to reducing environmental impact. The DLE process significantly lowers the footprint compared to traditional methods using evaporation ponds.

Progress and Future Developments

The Utah Division of Water Quality also approved the company’s underground injection control report last month. Anson plans to develop extraction wells on privately acquired land near the proposed extraction facility. The project is progressing swiftly, with recent completion of essential infrastructure like the Bosydaba #1 well.
