Imagine Lithium (ILI) has unveiled its first lithium oxide resource estimate for the Jackpot Project near Nipigon. The company announced an 8.4-million tonne resource, highlighting potential for open-pit mining. The 18,800-acre site, situated 40 km north of Nipigon and 150 km from Thunder Bay, is accessible via Highway 11.
Jackpot and Casino Royale Resource Details
The property features lithium-bearing pegmatite rock across two pits, Jackpot and Casino Royale. Jackpot holds 3.1 million tonnes, grading 0.85% lithium oxide in indicated resources, with an additional 2.2 million tonnes inferred at 0.82%. Casino Royale comprises 3.1 million tonnes inferred at 1.0% grade.
Potential for Expansion Through Drilling
Imagine Lithium sees room for growth with more drilling. Metallurgical testing supports a lithium oxide recovery rate of up to 81.5%, backing the project’s viability.
Strategic Advantages and Regional Synergies
Located in a burgeoning lithium region, Imagine shares proximity with Rock Tech Lithium’s Georgia Lake deposit. Discussions for potential collaboration began last fall. The project benefits from its highway access, power connections, and nearby workforce.
Future Processing and Shipment Options
Imagine Lithium is considering various shipment strategies, including processing plants globally, and battery plants in southern Ontario. Proposals for lithium refineries in Red Rock and Thunder Bay are under consideration.
