Sigma Lithium Secures BRL 487 Million Loan for New Carbon Neutral Plant

Sigma Lithium Corporation (SGML) has secured a binding commitment from BNDES for a BRL 487 million, 16-year development loan. This funding nearly covers the BRL 492 million budget for Sigma’s Second Greentech Carbon Neutral Plant in Brazil. The loan will enable Sigma to double its production capacity of Quintuple Zero Green Lithium from 270,000 tonnes to approximately 520,000 tonnes. This initiative aligns with BNDES’s strategy to develop Brazil’s industrial supply chain for sustainable lithium materials. Sigma Lithium plans to complete construction by summer 2025, solidifying its leadership in carbon-neutral lithium production.
