Sigma Lithium Secures BRL 487 Million for Second Carbon Neutral Plant

Sigma Lithium Corporation (SGML) announced a binding commitment from BNDES for a BRL 487 million loan to fund the construction of a Second Greentech Carbon Neutral Plant in Brazil. This development will help double the company’s production capacity, aiming for 520,000 tonnes annually.

Sigma Lithium has begun construction activities and detailed engineering work at the site following the final investment decision. The completion and commissioning of this plant are expected by summer 2025, enhancing the company’s ability to supply carbon-neutral lithium.

Terms of the Development Loan

The BNDES loan offers a 16-year repayment period at an interest rate of 7.45% per annum. This favorable arrangement requires no collateral, secured instead by a letter of credit from a BNDES-registered financial institution.
