Century Lithium Corp. (CYDVF) has announced successful initial results
at its lithium carbonate stage in the Amargosa Valley, Nevada Pilot Plant. The
company produced lithium carbonate with a purity of 99.2%. This milestone
demonstrates Century Lithium’s capability for end-to-end lithium processing
onsite, reducing the need for offsite treatment. The Pilot Plant processed five
40-liter lots of concentrated lithium solution, each yielding 4 kilograms of
lithium carbonate.
Century Lithium’s Key Achievements
During the startup, impurity levels were minimized, and the purity of lithium
carbonate increased with each test. Calcium and magnesium were identified as
primary impurities. Importantly, an equipment defect affecting these impurity
levels was found, and further testing is expected to resolve these issues.
Improvements and Future Plans
Century Lithium is focusing on design and engineering upgrades to
reduce capital requirements. The company continues to identify steps for
purity enhancement, promising further advancement towards battery-grade
standards.
