Sigma Lithium Secures BRL 487M Loan for Second Greentech Plant in Brazil

Sigma Lithium Corporation (SGML) has received a binding commitment from BNDES for a BRL487 million development loan to fully fund the construction of its Second Greentech Carbon Neutral Plant in Brazil.

Focus on Sustainable Development with Quintuple Zero Green Lithium

Sigma Lithium has initiated construction activities on its new plant site. In line with the Final Investment Decision made by the Board of Directors, the company expects to conclude construction and commissioning by the summer of 2025. This expansion aims to double the production capacity of Quintuple Zero Green Lithium to 520,000 tonnes per year.

Advantages of BNDES Loan

The 16-year Development Loan offers a low interest rate of 7.45% per year. It does not require collateral assets but is secured by a letter of credit issued by a BNDES-registered financial institution. Sigma will benefit from this favorable financing structure to strengthen its market position.

Upcoming Investor Day

Sigma Lithium will host an Investor Day on September 24, 2024, at Nasdaq in New York. This event will showcase the company’s strategic operations and growth initiatives, featuring presentations and a Q&A session with senior leadership.

By expanding its operations with the new Greentech plant, Sigma Lithium Corporation aims to lead in sustainable industrial production and contribute to Brazil’s lithium supply chain development.
