Atlas Lithium’s Spodumene Plant Design Gains Recognition

Atlas Lithium Corporation (ATLX), a leader in lithium exploration and development, has announced that its innovative spodumene concentrate plant design is a finalist for an industry contest in Minas Gerais. The contest, scheduled for November 14, 2024, aims to recognize environmentally sustainable industry practices. The plant design emphasizes compactness and modularity, significantly reducing weight, physical footprint, and water usage compared to traditional facilities.

Atlas Lithium’s modular design is an advanced application of dense media separation (DMS) technology, enhancing lithium processing. According to Raimundo Almeida Jr., Vice President of Lithium Processing, the plant’s reduced height and weight contribute to its eco-friendly status, emphasizing water recycling and minimal consumption.

The modular DMS processing plant is nearing the final stages of fabrication, with 48 of over 100 containers ready for shipment from South Africa to the Neves Project site in Brazil.

On July 18, 2024, Atlas Lithium engaged with U.S. diplomats, including Assistant Secretary of State Geoffrey Pyatt, in discussions focusing on critical minerals. Additionally, U.S. Ambassador Elizabeth Frawley Bagley hosted CEO Marc Fogassa on August 23, 2024, at the U.S. Embassy in Brasilia.

Community Contributions Recognized

CEO Marc Fogassa was honored as an Honorary Citizen of Belo Horizonte on August 22, 2024, by the City Council for his contributions to local progress. Fernando Passalio, Secretary for Economic Development of Minas Gerais, highlighted Atlas Lithium’s critical role in the region’s development.
