Argentina Lithium & Energy Corp. (TSXV: LIT) (FSE: OAY3) (OTCQX: LILIF) has completed a series of geophysical surveys at its Don Fermin property, part of the Rincon West lithium project in Salta Province, Argentina. The survey results reveal nearly 600 hectares of potential new conductive brine aquifers.
The Don Fermin property spans 1,456 hectares on the eastern edge of the Salar de Rincon, adjacent to major projects by Rio Tinto and Argosy Minerals. The exploration included 24.2 kilometers of Transient Electromagnetic (TEM) soundings, which map the subsurface resistivity and identify lithium brine targets.
Argentina Lithium Details New Drilling Plans
The TEM survey is a critical step in Argentina Lithium’s strategy to identify new lithium resources for economic delineation. Mile Rideout, V.P. of Exploration, emphasized the effectiveness of these surveys to target new drill sites, propelling the Rincon West project toward future resource confirmation.
Geophysical Survey Techniques and Analysis
Quantec Geoscience Ltd., a renowned geophysical service provider, conducted the surveys, acquiring data with Geonics Ltd. equipment. The soundings covered east-west and north-south lines, enabling comprehensive analysis and 2D resistivity modelling of the region.
The survey suggests that prospective aquifer zones may showcase resistivities below 5 Ohm-m, indicating significant lithium brine presence. The survey outcomes have prompted Argentina Lithium to plan a 6-hole drill program, pending necessary permits.
Implications for the Lithium Market
As lithium demand surges, Argentina Lithium is strategically positioning its assets to capitalize on future market needs. The expansion of the Rincon West asset strengthens the company’s prospects for long-term growth and resource development.
