Piedmont Lithium Inc. (PLL) shipped approximately 14,000 dmt of spodumene concentrate in Q2’24. The company’s joint venture, North American Lithium (NAL), set new records in quarterly production and operations.
Piedmont Lithium’s Q2’24 Achievements
Piedmont recorded 49,660 dmt in production, marking a 23% increase from Q1’24. Lithium recovery rates hit a new quarterly high of 68%, while process plant utilization reached 83%. The operational excellence continued with June seeing a record mill utilization of 91% and a single-day production record of 919 dmt.
Future Shipping Targets
Piedmont aims to ship around 96,500 dmt of spodumene concentrate in H2’24, which aligns with the full-year target of 126,000 dmt. This is subject to shipping logistics, port conditions, and customer requirements.
Crushed Ore Dome Operational
The crushed ore dome became operational in Q2’24. This is anticipated to enhance production levels and utilization rates further.
Keith Phillips, President and CEO of Piedmont Lithium, stated, “NAL is a highly strategic asset with exceptional operational performance as we ramp up to steady-state production.”
Piedmont looks forward to increasing shipments to contract customers in the second half of the year.
