Global Energy Metals Starts Drilling at Rana Nickel-Copper-Cobalt Project

Global Energy Metals Corporation (TSXV:GEMC | OTCQB:GBLEF | FSE:5GE1) has announced the commencement of drilling at the Rana Nickel-Copper-Cobalt Project in Norway. Joint venture partner Kingsrose Mining Limited (ASX: KRM) has signed a Drill Contract with Arctic Drilling for helicopter-supported core drilling starting in August 2024.

Drilling Highlights

Drilling is set to begin in early August 2024 at the Rånbogen prospect. The main targets are shallow, highly conductive electromagnetic (EM) anomalies down dip from surface nickel-copper-cobalt mineralized massive sulfide.

The drilling will reach a minimum of 700 meters to meet milestones under the Transaction Implementation Agreement with Scandinavian Resource Holdings Pty Ltd and Global Energy Metals.

Details of Rånbogen Drill Program

Two key targets were identified at Rånbogen through geophysical surveys conducted in 2023 by Kingsrose. These targets remain undrilled.

Target 1: A 170m long, 100m deep zone with conductance between 6800 and 9600 siemens, beginning 30 meters below surface. Historical rock chip samples showed up to 1.6% nickel and 0.6% copper.

Target 2: A 150m long, 50m deep zone with conductance between 1900 and 2800 siemens, starting 20 meters below surface. Samples 100 meters southwest returned up to 0.6% nickel and 0.6% copper.

Company Statements

Mitchell Smith, CEO of Global Energy Metals, expressed excitement for the targeted drill program at the Rånbogen area. The focus will be on two high-priority targets with strong EM responses, aiming to demonstrate the area’s growth potential.

Last year’s drilling at Rånbogen showed promising results, including 9.3 meters at 1.0% nickel, 0.3% copper, and 0.1% cobalt.

Sustainability and Permitting

The company has worked on several sustainability initiatives, such as receiving a dispensation for helicopter use, executing land access agreements with landowners, engaging with the local reindeer herding district, and completing various environmental studies.

Drilling is expected to finish by early September 2024, with assay results available in October and November 2024.
