Pan American Energy Receives $610,000 Grant for Geomicrobiology Project

Pan American Energy Corp. (CSE: PNRG | OTCQB: PAANF | FRA: SS60) has announced a collaborative research project titled “Geomicrobiology for Detecting Rare Metal Deposits.” The project, conducted with the University of Regina, Integral Metals Corp., and IMSS, received $610,000 from NSERC and MITACS.

Big Mack Lithium Project

The Spring 2024 field prospecting and sampling program at the Big Mack Lithium Project, located 80 km north of Kenora, Ontario, was completed on June 21, 2024. The project was led by Dr. Jared Suchan, P.Geo., a technical consultant, and Dr. Andrew Cameron from the University of Regina. Eight students from the University of Regina collected field data, tested ground water chemistry, and gathered samples of soil, rocks, and vegetation.

Research and Funding

The none-dilutive funds will support the Geomicrobiology project, which aims to use collected data and geomicrobiology techniques to improve and refine exploratory drill targets at Big Mack. This funding significantly offsets the costs of conducting research and field sampling.

CEO Jason Latkowcer expressed excitement over the funding, noting its value in enhancing their understanding of mineralization at Big Mack and refining exploratory drill targets.

About IMSS

IMSS, founded by Dr. Andrew Cameron and Dr. Christopher Yost in 2017 at the University of Regina, focuses on functional microbial genomics research. The institute collaborates with national and international partners in industry, government, and academia to provide access to genomic technologies and develop comprehensive approaches for studying genetic makeup and gene function in specific organisms and microbial communities.
