**Targa Exploration Corp. (CSE: TEX) (FRA: V6Y) (OTCQB: TRGEF)** has announced the completion of the next phase of exploration at the Opinaca Gold and Lithium project in Quebec.
Targa Identifies Two Large Till Anomalies
Targa has successfully completed another fieldwork phase. The company took 2,588 regional and in-fill till samples, along with 72 Heavy Mineral Concentrate samples and over 130 rock samples from boulders and outcrops. Results are expected in August, with plans for further exploration in September.
Opinaca Exploration Program
The main goal was to pinpoint the heads of the two gold-in-till anomalies from 2023. Using a portable XRF machine, arsenic values were tested to estimate gold presence. The team identified two distinct till train heads 1 to 4km up-ice from the 2023 anomalies, as well as a third area of interest.
Boulder and Outcrop Prospecting
Targa’s geology crew led by Adrian Lupascu P.Geo, conducted extensive mapping and took over 130 samples from outcrops and boulders. Several outcrops and boulders with disseminated arsenopyrite were found.
HMC Samples
72 heavy mineral concentrate samples were collected in areas of gold and lithium anomalies from 2023. These samples will be analyzed under a microscope to count gold grains. Preliminary results are expected in 3-4 weeks.
Next Phase of Work
The geology team will return to Opinaca in September for further exploration based on upcoming results. More details will be shared in August.
About the Opinaca Project
Located in Quebec’s James Bay region, the Opinaca Project is approximately 40km south of the Patriot Battery Metals’ Corvette lithium discovery. The project covers 85,267 hectares of prospective ground. Till sampling in 2023 identified a significant gold/arsenic/tungsten anomaly, as well as a higher-grade gold and lithium anomaly to the east.
