USCM Samples High Lithium Grades at McDermitt Lithium East Project

US Critical Metals Corp. (CSE: USCM) (OTCQB: USCMF) (FSE: 0IU0) has announced further exploration activities at the McDermitt Project in Nevada. The project is located along the east margin of the McDermitt Caldera and approximately 19 kilometers from Lithium America’s Thacker Pass Lithium Project. The project spans 6,508 acres of Bureau of Land Management claims, with the majority unexplored for lithium potential.

USCM Exploration Program Results

The recent exploration program involved taking a total of 53 samples with lithium grades ranging from anomalous to 2,129 ppm Li. These are the highest grade samples collected to date at McDermitt, confirming strongly elevated Li grades within the system.

Program Details

The fieldwork aimed to examine historical trenching areas where lithium-bearing decomposed rock material was previously reported. Detailed work included reexamining initial sampling sites and trench dump sampling from nearly all trenches. A total of 53 geochemical samples were collected during the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 campaigns.

Sampling Results

Five samples showed elevated concentrations of lithium, including sample 945910 (2,054 ppm Li) and sample 945939 (2,129 ppm Li). These samples were collected from a ridgeline between two trenches covered by a sandy material hosting the lithium mineralization.

Project Overview

The McDermitt Project is located within the McDermitt Caldera, an extinct super-volcano that formed approximately 16.3 million years ago. The lake that formed in the caldera basin was extremely enriched in lithium, leading to the accumulation of lithium-rich clays. Late volcanic activity uplifted the caldera, draining the lake and bringing lithium-rich sediments to the surface.

Management Commentary

Darren Collins, CEO and Director of USCM, stated, “Despite market headwinds, we continue to see value in our portfolio and will further advance our projects to drill ready. These exploration results demonstrate overlooked potential, guiding our path forward, including a focused drill program to test the project area.”
